I have seven months back in the program and I finally am willing to thoroughly follow our path by devoting myself wholeheartedly to working the Steps with a competent sponsor. This comes after doing the “revolving door” method interspersed with stays at treatment centers and halfway houses. 

Many people tried to help me to live sober one day at a time. However, I would never follow through on their suggestions or I’d take a half-measured approach. Consequently, I never experienced any of the promises.
