When I moved back to Galesburg, Ill., a few years ago to help my elderly mother, I had plenty of time to attend a lot of AA meetings. Because I was at three or four meetings a day and I also had that “out-of-towner expertise,” several women asked me to sponsor them. Some were new and others had just lost their sponsors.
