I started drinking in parks with friends. Since I looked oldest, I was the one who bought the alcohol. Soon, I’d had enough of drinking in parks and acquired a new set of friends, who I felt were cooler. I felt privileged they had accepted me as part of the “in” scene.
We commenced to party every Friday and Saturday night, gaining a wild reputation. I wanted to live up to my older brother’s reputation, being tough and funny. I was neither.
