A pastor asks the Fellowship to be more considerate about his faith
I am a recovering alcoholic and a pastor of a Christian church. I came to AA over 16 years ago, completely bankrupt. Over the years I’ve found relief in the Steps, and I learned how to live sober one day at a time. I have no doubts that I’m powerless over alcohol.
But I have had a problem with going to meetings where my faith and my church are attacked. Most groups don’t tolerate sexist or racist remarks, nor do they accept “drug talk” or even crosstalk, but it seems to be just fine to say whatever you want about Christians and the church they love.
