When my drinking career started it was all fun and games. I was having a good time with no consequences except for a few hangovers and a few squabbles with the parents. That went along for a few years and then came the serious drinking.
The Big Book mentions the four horsemen, and that's where I ended up: entangled with the four horsemen, not knowing where to go or how to get out. That is when someone handed me the key to AA. I spent years with that struggle until I finally gave up and asked for help. The Fellowship of AA reached out and helped me.
