A little over seven years ago, my husband moved in with his parents after I kicked him out of our partially remodeled house in the country. It was the middle of the winter, and the wind blew through the gaps in the walls and stirred the dirt floor of the unfinished house. The starkness of my home reflected the emptiness I felt inside. I couldn't understand why I'd ever married that angry man.
