At six months sober, his view of the world was getting much better. Well...not this day

I hadn’t been sober very long. In fact, I was going to pick up my first six-month chip with my sponsor at our regular Monday Night Stag Meeting. I could see things were finally getting back together in my life. Fortunately, I did not lose my job because I was retired. I didn’t lose my home because my wife and I had paid the mortgage off before she retired. And it was especially nice that she hadn’t decided she’d had enough of me being drunk and was throwing me out during these six months of sobriety. Life was great. Things were finally working out for me. It was like a true miracle—until today.
